WHY KILIMANJARO LEMOSHO ROUTE?

Image
WHY SHOULD I USE LEMOSHO ROUTE  The Lemosho route on Kilimanjaro is a top choice for climbers for several key reasons. Located on the western side of the mountain, Lemosho has earned a reputation for its high success rate, beautiful scenery, and fewer crowds. The trek begins at the Lemosho Gate and crosses the entire Shira Plateau, providing an enjoyable, relatively flat hike from Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2. Many hikers today choose the Lemosho route due to its impressive success rate, especially compared to other routes. It can be completed in six, seven, or eight days, but more days generally mean a higher success rate, as this allows more time for acclimatization: 6-Day Itinerary: This option skips two camps, Shira Camp 1 and Karanga Camp. Without enough acclimatization time, the success rate tends to be lower, so we generally don’t recommend this itinerary. 7-Day Itinerary: This version only skips Shira Camp 1 and follows a similar pac...

KNOW ABOUT RED HOT POKER

Image
The plant genus you’re referring to consists of both herbaceous and evergreen species. The herbaceous varieties, along with their hybrids, feature narrow, grass-like leaves ranging from 10 to 100 cm (4 to 39 in) in length. In contrast, the evergreen species have broader, strap-shaped foliage that can grow up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) long. All species in this genus are known for their vibrant, upright flower spikes that rise well above the foliage. These striking blooms, often in shades of red, orange, and yellow—sometimes bicolored—are rich in nectar, attracting bees and sunbirds during their blooming period.                On Mount Kilimanjaro, you may encounter this plant species at elevations above 3,000 meters (9,840 feet) above sea level. Notable locations where they can be seen include the trails leading to Horombo Hut, Simba Camp, and Second Cave, as well as along the route from Machame Hut to Shira Cave. These vibrant flowers create a ...
